Dr. Amy Johnson Owner/Veterinarian
BS in Animal Science, Cornell University, DVM, North Carolina State University
Dr. Johnson has been a veterinarian since 1998 and a Jamaica Plain resident since 2002. Prior to opening JP Animal Clinic, she worked in both private practice and for animal welfare organizations in Massachusetts and New York. She has special interests in preventative medicine, pain management, the human-animal bond and companion animal overpopulation. Dr. Johnson shares her home with her dog Lily and two cats, adopted from shelters, that teach and inspire her every day.

Dr. Jennifer Probert Associate Veterinarian
BS in Veterinary Technology, Quinnipiac University, BS in Equine Science, Colorado State University, DVM, Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Probert joined JP Animal Clinic in 2013 as an Associate and has been a great addition to our team. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, and canine rehabilitation. Outside of work she enjoys snowboarding, cooking, photography and taking her two dogs for hikes.

Marianne Ducharme Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician
Marianne has a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University. After working in business for many years, she rediscovered her love for animals after adopting a cat. In an effort to help the many animals that need homes she left her business career to work at a local animal shelter. A few years later she joined the Jamaica Plain Animal Clinic to learn more about veterinary medicine and veterinary management. She has a passion for stopping pet overpopulation and is a strong advocate for spay/neuter and adoption.

Stephanie Lam
Stephanie got her BS in Animal Science from UMass-Amherst. Since graduation in 2012 she has been working in small animal veterinary practices. She has enjoyed working with both cats and dogs but also has loved her experiences working with exotics. Stephanie has a lineolated parakeet named Groot, a temperamental Chihuahua ironically named Happy, and a beta fish, Khaleesi.

Brett Shifflett, CVT
Brett holds an Associates in Veterinary Technology from Vermont Technical College. She is originally from the South but has made her home here in Boston. After receiving her degree she jumped right into emergency medicine before coming to us. Brett shares her home with her dog Mowgli, her cat Amelia, and two rats, Penne and Ziti. You will know who she is when you come in by her vibrant hair color, which changes weekly:)

Joyce Caranci, Front Desk
Joyce studied Animal Science at UMass-Amherst and has more than 10 years of experience in animal shelter operations.  While she misses working in shelters she is enjoying the change of pace and still fosters for the most recent shelter she managed. Joyce shares her home with her dog Penny and four cats with big personalities.
